Sermon: 2/15/22- Wednesday's Devotional

The Covenant Keeper
Reading: Genesis 15:7-21; Hebrews 6:13-20

The ancient covenant ceremony was shocking: God alone passed through the divided animals, taking full responsibility for keeping the promise. This wasn't a negotiation; it was a divine guarantee. God essentially said, "If I don't keep my word, may I be torn apart like these animals." Centuries later, that's exactly what happened. On a cross, God sacrificed Himself to keep His covenant promise. Jesus didn't just make a way; He became the way. The covenant wasn't dependent on Abram's performance but on God's character. Your salvation doesn't rest on your ability to maintain faithfulness but on Christ's finished work. Stop trying to earn what's already been freely given through the ultimate covenant keeper.
