When God Makes Us Uncomfortable
Reading: Genesis 11:1-9; Jonah 1:1-17

God confused the languages at Babel not as punishment, but as redirection. The people weren't being judged for sin—they were being pushed toward their purpose. Sometimes God's greatest mercy is making our comfortable places uncomfortable. Like Jonah, we often run from God's call to unfamiliar territory, preferring the safety of what we know. But God loves us too much to let us stay where we're not supposed to be. When life becomes difficult, when our comfortable routines get disrupted, when communication breaks down, consider this: God might be removing the cushions from your nest. He might be creating the discomfort necessary to move you toward His purposes. The question isn't "Why is God making things hard?" but "Where is God directing me?" His disruptions are invitations to trust Him more deeply.
