The Heart Behind the Offering
Reading: Genesis 4:1-7; Malachi 1:6-10
God's rejection of Cain's offering wasn't about the type of gift—it was about the heart behind it. Abel brought the "fat portions from the firstborn," while Cain brought "some" of his harvest. The difference? Abel gave his best; Cain gave what was convenient. Today, examine what you're offering God. Are you giving Him your first fruits—your best time, energy, and resources—or merely what's left over? God doesn't need our gifts; He desires our hearts. When we offer Him our best, we're declaring that He is worthy of our highest devotion. Reflect on how your current priorities influence what you offer to God.
