Consecrate Yourself
Reading: Joshua 3:5

Before the miracle, there was preparation. Joshua called the people to consecrate themselves -- to separate from what was unclean and devote themselves fully to God. This was not a ritual for its own sake. It was the posture of a people making themselves ready to witness the work of God. We cannot step into the river on our own strength. Our instincts resist it. Our fear resists it. Consecration is the act of handing those instincts over and saying, I belong to you. Whatever God is calling you toward today, begin with surrender. Set yourself apart. Prepare your heart to move.
