Sermon: 10/11/26- Wednesday's Devotional

Holy Ground
Reading: Exodus 3:1-6 -- God instructs Moses to remove his sandals because the ground on which he stands is holy, establishing the weight and reverence due to God's presence

Moses was not permitted to stroll casually up to the burning bush. He was told to stop, remove his sandals, and recognize that he was standing on holy ground. The same God who met Moses in the wilderness is the God you approach every time you pray. The tearing of the temple veil at the crucifixion opened access to His presence, but open access does not mean casual access. You are entering the throne room of the Maker of Heaven and Earth. Approach with awe. Approach with reverence. Approach knowing where you are.

Reflection: How would your prayer life change if you began each prayer with a genuine awareness of whose presence you were entering?

Practical Application: Before praying today, take sixty seconds of silence to acknowledge specifically who God is before you say anything else.
