Sermon: 10/4/26- Wednesday's Devotional

The Noise That Drowns Out God
Reading: Psalm 46:10, Mark 1:35

Psalm 46:10 calls us to be still and know that God is God. In Mark 1:35, we see that even Jesus withdrew from the noise of ministry and crowds to pray in solitude before dawn. If the Son of God prioritized silence and solitude, how much more do we need it? Our world is engineered for distraction. Notifications, schedules, media, and noise compete relentlessly for our attention. What we give our attention to shapes what we hear and what we miss. Silence is not emptiness. It is the space where God's voice becomes distinguishable from everything else pressing in around us.

Reflection Question: What specific sources of noise in your daily life most consistently crowd out your awareness of God?

Practical Application: Set your phone to Do Not Disturb for 15 minutes today and sit quietly before God, simply telling Him you are listening.
