Sermon: 8/30/26- Tuesday's Devotional

The Danger of Misplaced Confidence
Reading: Judges 4:6-9; Psalm 118:8-9
Psalm 118:8-9 warns against placing ultimate trust in human beings rather than in God.

Barak heard the command of God delivered through a trusted prophet, and still he said, "If you go with me, I will go." His confidence was anchored in Deborah rather than in the God who issued the command. It is easy to do the same. We lean on a mentor, a pastor, a spouse, or a friend, and quietly transfer our trust from God to them. Those relationships are gifts, but they were never meant to carry the weight that belongs to God alone. Examine where your confidence is truly rooted. When your human anchors are removed, does your faith hold?
