Sermon: 8/23/26- Tuesday's Devotional

God's Priority Is Relationship, Not Comfort
Reading: John 10:10; Deuteronomy 7:3-4

One of the most persistent myths in the Christian life is the belief that God's top priority is our happiness. It is not. His top priority is our relationship with Him. Like a skier descending a beautiful slope who cannot see the crevasse below, we often pursue what looks good without knowing where it leads. God, who sees the full picture, gives us guardrails not to restrict our joy but to protect it. Jesus said He came to bring life to the full -- and that fullness is found in closeness to Him, not in the circumstances we think we need.

Reflection: Is there something in your life that looks good on the surface but may be pulling you away from your relationship with God?

Practical Application: Spend ten minutes in honest prayer, asking God to reveal any area where your pursuit of comfort or happiness has replaced your pursuit of Him.
