Sermon: 8/23/26- Monday's Devotional

The Danger of Forgetting
Reading: Deuteronomy 7:1-6

The Israelites did not forget God accidentally. The Hebrew word used in Judges 3:7 describes a deliberate dismissal -- a choice to stop remembering. This is a sobering mirror held up to our own lives. We rarely abandon God in one dramatic moment. We do it gradually, quietly, by choosing other things over time. Consider what you may be slowly dismissing from your mind. What commands or truths have you heard a thousand times but allowed to drift? Faithfulness is not passive. It requires daily, intentional remembrance of who God is and what He has said.

Reflection: What area of your life have you been choosing your own preferences over God's clear direction?

Practical Application: Write down one specific command or promise from Scripture and place it somewhere visible this week as an act of intentional remembrance.
