The Table Requires Clean Hands and a Clear Conscience
Reading: 1 Corinthians 11:27-28; 1 John 1:9

The sermon closed with an invitation to come to the Lord's table with a clear conscience. Scripture supports this posture. Paul urges believers to examine themselves before partaking, not as a ritual of worthiness but as an act of honest self-accounting before God. The good news is that 1 John 1:9 does not leave us stranded in our examination. Confession opens the door to forgiveness that is both faithful and complete. The Holy Spirit who convicts us of sin is the same Spirit who empowers us to live differently. Confession is not the end of the conversation. It is the beginning of restoration.

Practical Application: Before your next time of worship or communion, set aside intentional time to examine your heart, confess what the Holy Spirit reveals, receive God's forgiveness fully, and approach His table with gratitude rather than guilt.
