Sermon: 8/2/26- Wednesday's Devotional

There Are No Gray Areas With God
Reading: James 2:10-11; Proverbs 14:12

James draws a sharp and uncomfortable line. To stumble at one point of the law is to be guilty of breaking it entirely. Our culture has grown comfortable with moral gradients, ranking sins by severity and justifying smaller ones with comparisons to larger ones. We call it a gray area. God does not. Achan did not take everything in Jericho. He took one robe, some silver, and a bar of gold. But God said take nothing, and nothing meant nothing. The line God draws is not a suggestion open to personal interpretation. Obedience is not a percentage. It is a posture.

Reflection Question: Where have you been negotiating with God about the meaning of His clear instructions?

Practical Application: Identify one area where you have been treating God's standard as flexible. Commit today to aligning your actions with what you know to be true rather than what feels convenient.
