Sermon: 8/2/26- Monday's Devotional

The Danger of Confidence Without Caution
Reading: Joshua 7:1-5

Fresh off a remarkable victory, Israel marched toward Ai with confidence bordering on carelessness. They had witnessed God bring down the walls of Jericho, and that triumph became the lens through which they evaluated the next challenge. But confidence rooted in past experience rather than present obedience is fragile ground. God had not changed, but something among His people had. Before we assume that yesterday's victories guarantee tomorrow's outcomes, we must ask whether our hands are clean and our hearts are aligned with Him. Spiritual momentum is a gift, not a guarantee. Walk humbly.
Reflection Question: In what areas of your life are you relying on past spiritual victories rather than present faithfulness to God?
Practical Application: Before making a significant decision today, pause and ask God whether your confidence is rooted in His current direction or simply in what He did before.
