Sermon: 12/28/25- Wednesday's Devotional

The Radical Humility of Jesus
Reading: Philippians 2:5-8; John 13:1-17

Jesus didn't cling to His divine privileges. He made Himself nothing, took on the form of a servant, and humbled Himself to death on a cross. This isn't just a beautiful description of Christ's sacrifice—it's the pattern for our lives. Paul says, "Have the same mindset." Everything in our culture screams the opposite: assert your rights, demand your comfort, insist on your preferences. But Kingdom living is upside-down. When we trace our relationship conflicts back to their source, we often find pride, self-centeredness, or refusal to serve. Jesus shows us another way. He washed feet. He served those who would betray Him. He laid down power to lift others up. This is our calling.

Reflection Question: Where are you holding onto power or privilege instead of assuming the posture of a servant?
