Love Requires Action
Reading: 1 John 4:7-21

"We love because He first loved us." Love isn't passive; it's active. John makes it unmistakably clear: you cannot claim to love God while hating your brother or sister. Love for God and love for others are inseparable. God's love compels us to actively seek the good of others—especially the broken, poor, and oppressed. This is uncomfortable truth. It's easier to love God in the abstract than to love difficult people in the concrete. But C.S. Lewis reminds us that love is "a steady wish for the loved person's ultimate good." Today, who is God calling you to love? Not with feelings, but with action? True love always costs something. What will your obedience cost you today?
