Sermon: 10/11/26- Thursday's Devotional

Speak, Lord, I Am Listening
Reading: 1 Samuel 3:7-10 -- Samuel, still young and unfamiliar with God's voice, is instructed to respond with openness and availability rather than his own words

Samuel's response to God was not a list. It was an open posture. Speak, for I am listening. Most prayer lives are dominated by speaking and nearly empty of listening. Yet relationship requires both. A conversation where only one party speaks is not a conversation at all. God desires to speak direction, peace, conviction, and grace into the quiet spaces of your life. But those spaces must exist. The noise of requests, however legitimate, can crowd out the voice that matters most. Today, after you bring your concerns to God, stop. Wait. Listen.

Reflection: When was the last time you ended a prayer in silence rather than with amen and then immediately moved on?

Practical Application: Set a timer for five minutes after your regular prayer today. Sit in silence. Do not fill it. Simply receive whatever God places in your heart.
