Sermon: 1/18/26- Thursday's Devotional
First Fruits, Not Leftovers
Reading: Proverbs 3:9-10; Matthew 6:19-21, 33
There's profound significance in giving God our first rather than what's left. When we tithe from the beginning of the month instead of seeing what's left at the end, we're declaring that God is our priority, not an afterthought. This principle extends beyond finances to our time, energy, and talents. Do you give God your sharpest morning hours or your exhausted evening time? Your best creativity or your mental leftovers? Jesus taught that where our treasure is, our heart follows. By intentionally offering God our first and best, we're training our hearts to recognize His worthiness. This week, identify one resource—time, money, or talent—and commit to giving God the first portion rather than the remainder. Watch how this act of faith transforms your perspective on His provision and priority in your life.
