Sermon: 10/4/26- Monday's Devotional

The Silence Before the Voice
Reading: 1 Samuel 3:1-7

Samuel lived at the center of Israel's religious life, yet the text says he did not yet know the Lord. This is a sobering reminder that proximity to sacred things does not equal intimacy with God. You can attend every service, observe every ritual, and still be spiritually distant. Knowing God is not inherited through environment or absorbed through routine. It is a personal, revealed encounter. Ask yourself honestly today: Am I near the things of God, or am I near God himself? There is a difference, and it matters eternally.

Reflection Question: In what ways might religious routine be substituting for genuine relationship with God in your life?

Practical Application: Spend five minutes today in complete silence before God, not asking for anything, simply acknowledging His presence.
