Since 1933 Pomeroy Church of the Nazarene has been faithfully serving the residents of Garfield County.  Many have found salvation and hope amongst the members and friends of this church congregation.  Our hope and prayer is that people will continue to do so for many years to come.

May we always be reminded that we are not alone on this journey of faith.  It is by the strength of our congregation that each one of us have been enabled by God’s Holy Spirit to walk the narrow road.  May we always continue to Model Jesus, Reach People, and Grow Together.

Hello, I’m pastor Evan Elwell.  My wife is Jessica and my son, Elijah (Eli).  We come from Eugene, Oregon and are excited to be part of the Pomeroy Community.

We joined Pomeroy Church of the Nazarene in September 2020. I graduated from Nazarene Bible College in 2013 and was ordained on the Oregon Pacific District in 2015, where I served as Youth Pastor in Crow, Oregon for eight years, and Executive Pastor in Eugene for six years.

My wife Jessica and I were married in 2003 and have one son, Eli, born in 2007. Our one complaint about Pomeroy is that it isn’t closer to Disneyland. In my free time, I enjoy reading, video games, and Taekwondo, where I hold a third-degree black belt.
